We wanted some fish & chips today and chose to try George's. Usually we go to Caz's but this place was closer and wanted to try something new. It was very nice and clean inside, the owner / worker was very nice and polite. The food was delicious fresh and made to order. Batter was light and fluffy, not soaked in grease, fries were a decent size, fresh side of cold slaw eyc. He brought it to our table starting first with the onion rings and Greek salad (all fresh, nice dressing and crisp. Nothing was soggy or wilted). Once we were done he brought out the fish & chips. I am not a fan of fish but once a year I like fish and chips and boy did this hit the spot!! They are still open for business despite the road being closed. If you want a good meal go support George's during this time!! You won't be disappointed!! Prices were reasonable!! We had 2 fish meals onion rings salad and drinks 40 and we had some left overs. We will return for sure!!

The food was excellent! The fish was a large piece that was perfectly crispy and crunchy. The coleslaw was creamy and delicious. The fries were great and everything tasted like it was made fresh. The only small issue I had was that the fries tasted slightly burnt but they weren't oily at all. The menu had lots of variety. I can get salad and souvlaki, chicken tenders for the kids, dessert and there were many other options. I didnt have a chance to look at them all because I was quite hungry. For a little place, I was suprised at the selection. Wonderful place. As I've never been before, I can only recommend the haddock. If you love fish and chips and looking for a place to try, this is the place. The cashier came out to serve the food as it was quiet. She was social and very kind and attentive. Very nice lady! It was very clean, cozy and the sort of place where you can see customers are quite comfortable with the place and the staff. I recommend this place. For 2 haddock plates with one large piece each with fries, coleslaw and 2 drinks it came to around 32. Well worth it in my opinion. Someone suggested a mcfish at McDonald's. Completely forgettable. Support a local shop that gives you great service, food and a genuine home-feel atmosphere.

Everything is delicious here; even their non fish items are fantastic! I usually go for the chicken souvlaki with salad and fries, and one meal is nearly enough for 2 people. Their prices are amazing and a big part of what keeps us coming back. The staff are also incredibly friendly. Would recommend to anyone!

We’re not fish or seafood lovers but when a quality piece of fish is done up with just enough batter, with a side of tartar sauce, then we enjoy it. This place came highly recommended and hasn’t disappointed. Enjoyed take out. Great portions, great prices especially on Fridays, and LOVE that they will substitute a fresh, delicious salad with house made dressing for fries. Not a big fan of the plastic pouches of tartar sauce but still good. Companion RAVED about their chicken fingers and fries...said best in Cambridge! Highly recommend.
